THIS WAY! is a site specific performance commissioned by Siobhan Davis Studio as part of the Big Dance Festival 2010. The project was set outside in public spaces to reach out to all members of the public that encountered the performers.
Our aim was to enter large crowds, dancing amongst the audience. The performers dressed head to toe in one single colour covering the whole of the body, including head remaining anonymous.
"One performer enters the crowd and remains in and among it. The crowd is now an audience witnessing what they think to be one performer. Slowly performers enter the crowd at intervals and distance apart for the audience to remain unaware. Performers begin moving the audience subtly suggesting with their bodies, unobtrusively. As soon as the crowd stray too far from the performer and give them "performance space" the performer must reinsert them self back into the middle of them."
